Vendors often send an order in more than one delivery. You receive each delivery as it arrives, and Brahmin Solutions keeps track of what is still outstanding.
Before you start
The purchase order must be Confirmed.
Receive the first delivery
In the top menu, click Purchases.
Click your order number.
Click the Receiving tab.
Click New receipt.
In the Qty box, type only the quantity that actually arrived — not the quantity ordered.
In the Location box, choose the bin where you put the stock.
Click Receive.
How to know it worked
On the Receiving tab you will see:
a progress bar showing the part you have received, for example 40 of 100 (40%)
the Received column showing what has arrived
the Remaining column showing what is still owed
The order status changes to In process. It stays open until everything arrives.
Receive the rest later
When the next delivery turns up, repeat the same steps. Click New receipt again and enter the new quantity. Brahmin Solutions adds it to what you already received.
Once the Remaining column reaches 0 on every line, the order becomes Fulfilled and closes.
Enter what arrived, not what you ordered
Enter what arrived, not what you expected. The form does not pre-fill the ordered quantity, and it will not stop you typing a larger number. If you enter more than was actually delivered, your stock count will be wrong until someone notices.
Count first, then type.
What this changes
Each delivery updates your stock separately:
What changes | What happens |
On Hand | goes up by the quantity on that delivery only |
Expected | goes down by the same amount, so it always shows what is still coming |
Cost | recalculated on each delivery, using the price on that delivery |
