Choose where your stock is received

Tell Brahmin Solutions which bin the stock went into.

Every line you receive has to say where the stock went. That is what the Location box next to the quantity is for.

Getting this right matters later: when someone goes to pick that stock, the location is what tells them which bin to walk to.

Choose a location

  1. On the receive form, type the quantity in the Qty box.

  2. Click the Location box next to it.

  3. Choose the bin where you physically put the stock.

The list shows the bins set up for the warehouse the order was raised against — for example Storage, Production and Receiving.

Split one delivery across two bins

Sometimes a delivery does not all fit in one place. You can split it:

  1. Enter the quantity that went into the first bin, and choose that bin.

  2. Click + Add location underneath.

  3. Enter the quantity that went into the second bin, and choose that bin.

Repeat for as many bins as you need. The quantities have to add up to the total that arrived.

Put it where you actually put it

Location is required. That is what the red asterisk next to Qty / Location means. It is easy to type the quantity, tab past the location box and carry on, because the two boxes sit side by side under one heading.

Check both boxes on every line before you click Receive.

Receive into the bin you actually used. It is tempting to always pick the same bin because it is first in the list. If the stock is not physically where the system says it is, the person picking it will not find it — and that is a much slower problem to unpick than choosing correctly now.

How to know it worked

Open the item and click its Inventory tab. Your stock appears against the bin you chose, with the quantity next to it. If you split the delivery, you will see one row per bin.
