Ship an order

Take a confirmed sales order from committed through to shipped.

Once an order is confirmed you can start getting it out. This covers shipping the whole order in one go — for anything else see Ship part of an order.

Before you start

The sales order must be Confirmed. You cannot ship a draft.

Create the shipment

  1. In the top menu, click Sales.

  2. Click the order number.

  3. Click the Shipment tab.

  4. Click New shipment.

  5. Leave the quantities blank — Brahmin Solutions picks the oldest stock first.

  6. Click Commit.

Leaving the quantities blank is the quick path. The screen says as much: "leave blank — backend auto-picks by FIFO when you commit." If you need to choose specific stock, see Ship part of an order.

Move it through the stages

The shipment now shows a stepper. Work along it as the job gets done:

  1. Pick — once someone has taken the goods off the shelf.

  2. Pack — once they are boxed and labelled. Choose the Carrier here.

  3. Ship — when the carrier collects.

Each stage tells you where you are. At Packed, for instance, it reads "Packed and ready to ship. Click Ship on the stepper when the carrier picks up."

Add the tracking number

Under Shipment details you can set the Carrier, Tracking # and Shipped date. Fill the tracking number in before you ship, and your customer can be told where their order is.

How to know it worked

The shipment reads Shipped with the date, the order status becomes Fulfilled, and every line shows Remaining 0 and a status of Complete.

Your On Hand drops at this point — not before.
