Create Product — Multiple Variants

Use this workflow when a product has multiple sellable versions.

Examples:

  • Size + Color

  • Pack count options

  • Rotations or configurations


Steps

1. Complete Basics + Organization

Same as Single SKU setup:

  • Name

  • SKU

  • Category / Brand / Tags

2. Choose Structure: Variants

Under Structure, select:

Variants — Build a matrix

3. Item Type and UOM

Select Buy / Make / Sell.

Base UOM is required.

Additional UOMs apply to all variants created under this product.

4. Variant Option Setup

In the Variants section:

Click Add Option

Define:

  • Option Name (Size, Color, Rotation)

  • Values (comma-separated)

Example:

  • Size: 10xl, 5xl

  • Rotation: 1, 2, 5

5. Generate Variant Matrix

Click Generate Matrix

The system builds all combinations automatically.

6. Edit Variant Fields

Before creation, you can edit:

  • Variant name

  • SKU codes

  • UPC (optional)

  • Starting MAC (required entry)

Note: MAC must be entered initially, but true MAC updates after purchasing/manufacturing.

7. Click Create

Once created:

  • Product is created

  • All variants are created

  • Inventory is tracked per SKU


After Creation

Next steps typically include:

  • Assigning vendors

  • Setting reorder points

  • Reviewing inventory by warehouse

  • Updating pricing
