Add and Manage Customer Memos

Capture quick internal context for your team

Updated this week

Customer Memos allow your team to add short internal notes directly to a customer record. Memos are ideal for capturing quick context, reminders, or important details that donโ€™t belong in structured customer fields.

Memos are internal-only and do not affect orders, pricing, or customer-facing documents.

What Are Customer Memos?

Customer Memos are lightweight internal notes associated with a customer. They are separate from the longer Notes section in the customer Details tab and are designed for fast, time-stamped updates.

Common use cases include:

  • Internal reminders

  • Account context or history

  • Special handling instructions

  • Sales or support notes

Each memo records:

  • The author

  • The date and time it was created

Add a Memo to a Customer

  1. Open Sales โ†’ Customers

  2. Select the customer you want to update

  3. Navigate to the Memos tab

  4. Click Add memo

  5. Enter your note in the memo editor

  6. Click Save memo

The memo will immediately appear in the memo list for that customer.

Formatting Memos

The memo editor supports rich text formatting, allowing you to:

  • Use bold, italics, and underline

  • Create lists and structured notes

  • Format content for readability

This makes it easy to keep important information clear and scannable.

Edit or Delete a Memo

Each memo includes management actions:

  • Edit
Update the memo content if details change or need clarification

  • Delete
Permanently remove the memo from the customer record

Deleting a memo does not affect historical orders or transactions.

Important Notes

  • Memos are for internal use only

  • Memos are not visible to customers

  • Memos do not impact pricing, orders, or reporting

  • Memos are intended for quick context, not long-term documentation

For longer or more detailed internal notes, use the Notes section in the customer Details tab.
